Our History
John F. Long Home Builder started in 1949. The Foundation was established a few years later. Maryvale, the State's first master planned community, became a haven for World War II vets to establish their first homes. Long was the innovator of a variety of home building techniques that are still in use. Today, we are leaders in residential and commercial development.
Jacob F. Long
Jacob F. "Jake" Long began working in the family home-building business as an apprentice carpenter when he was just 18. He then continued learning the business from the ground up. After learning many trade skills, he was mentored by the company's construction superintendent, and upon the superintendent's retirement, Jake became Superintendent of Construction.

John F. Long (1920 - 2008) was an unassuming, yet supremely confident man whose character was forged by the tough times of the Depression.
